Members take turns in suggesting what we shall write about. We take that idea away with us and prepare a story or poem (factual or fictional or a combination of both) to read at the next meeting. We don’t teach. We don’t criticise. This form of creative expression is a self-learning experience and the quality of the work produced on many occasions would be worthy of publication or competition entry. Why not join us, flex your writing muscle and you might be pleasantly surprised with your latent talent. Nothing ventured, nothing gained as the saying goes.

During tea break we take up our pens and write what we call the ‘10 minute scribble’ on a subject announced as the kettle goes on.

All work produced from the monthly theme can be entered on the Writing for Pleasure page of Saltburn District u3a web site (see below). Please take time to read them. It's great to have comments, and these are most welcome. Email your comments via the message button.
