Poetry 1 is a friendly group and we look out for one another.

We meet monthly to read and share our love of poetry. We choose two poems to bring to the meeting and, in turn, each member reads out their first poem before the coffee break. After break, we read our second chosen poem in turn. We enjoy discussing the poems as much as reading them.

The group leader gives a theme for each meeting and we select our poems on that basis. However, we allow a wide interpretation of the theme so most poems will happen to fit the theme. Every few weeks, we have a free choice of poems meeting.
