The study of Latin opens many doors, the least of which is the richness of our own language, many of whose words come directly from the Latin.

We are a small, informal group, who study Latin through the life story of Horace , a  poet.

We translate from Latin into English and study the grammar and the patterns that the language takes.

Some knowledge of Latin is beneficial but it can have been acquired many years ago. We have members who were absolute beginners and they were surprised in that they are not finding the language too difficult.
